Phobias and fears are some of the many residents of our subconscious mind. We, humans, are at the top of the food chain and so our nature demands the high sense. Our social behaviour has to have paranoia in the stimulus, a concept that ensures better reflexes to the environment.

Phobias are created out of the urgency to survive. We cannot be certain of our survival and so we try to be as careful as possible. Unfortunately, these phobias feed on our attention and soon we realise we’re trapped in the circle of survival and paranoia. It is normal to have phobias unless they don’t cause you to not do things that you want.

1. Social Phobia

Social Phobia is that fear which every one of us has, in one of the other ways. Our kind is given the name of social animals only because we are bound by the communication we do with others that are like us. In a controlled environment like our society, we face issues like anxiety disorder, self-consciousness, and inferiority complex. 

2. Agoraphobia

Agoraphobia is the phobia of open spaces. Since an environment is directly related to the purpose of a person in it, Agoraphobia comes on similar lines to social phobias. Where some misinterpret the meaning of fearing open spaces literally, it might be a lot more serious than that. Agoraphobia drives an individual’s will of being in an environment down to an extent where the outside world becomes a threat. This may lead to a person being locked inside the house forever.

3. Acrophobia

Acrophobia is the phobia of heights. This is a highly triggering fear, for the one having it has to deal with the discomfort of being in a place that is on an elevation. A basic lift that takes you up the floors can also be equally provoking for someone with this phobia. 

Pteromerhanophobia:

Pteromerhanophobia is the fear of flying. This phobia specifically deals with the concept of air travel. A person who is not fine with taking a flight could be paranoid about the plane crashing. This is very commonly seen in people since they cannot be sure of the plane never facing a crash. The main motivator of this phobia for an individual is the denial of death.  

4. Claustrophobia

Claustrophobia is exactly the opposite of Agoraphobia. Where Agoraphobia is, about fearing open spaces, Claustrophobia is about the phobia of closed space. This can be directly connected to the phenomenon like fear of flying. People suffering from this phobia cannot stay indoors for long.

5. Pteromerhanophobia

6. Cynophobia

Cynophobia is the phobia of dogs. This particular phobia is the very reason why most people never prefer being around animals. This usually happens because of a serious past experience where the person might be bitten by a dog or maybe chased by a dog, etc. This phobia is also critical as it changes their perception about anything associated with dogs, which is their main source of concern.

7. Trypanophobia

Trypanophobia is the funniest phobia of all, the phobia of injections. Their numerous cases we all have seen about how people are scared of needles. This also becomes a higher risk as compared to any other phobia as it might lead to the person not consuming any medications involving needles. This can lead to serious health issues if not taken care of. 

8. Mysophobia

Mysophobia is the phobia of germs and dirt. When we connote an individual’s ‘OCD’ we must also know that it might be a result of them fearing the dirt and germs. This involves the people being obsessed with cleaning, which shouldn’t be a prioritizing factor in life. This also changes their perception of the ideal world. 

9. Entomophobia

Entomophobia is close to Mysophobia. Where Mysophobia was about fearing germs and dirt, Entomophobia is about fearing insects. The existence of insects is supposed to be creepy and annoying which makes it very difficult for many people to resist the existence of insects around them. The 3 or 4 pairs of legs crawling isn’t the environment many people would want to belong to. 

10. Ophidiophobia

Since we connected germs and dirt to insects, Ophidiophobia comes along similar lines. It is the fear of snakes. Anything that has no legs and slithers around for movement makes most of the people puke their guts out. Since the interaction of snakes and humans is not that frequent, this phobia also settles in as per the previous experiences of an individual.  

All in all, phobias are a state of mind that can easily be traced and understood, if not cured. Any kind of fear is a cofactor of dissatisfaction. Hence, when we try to find a pattern in us of the things we avoid, could be an alert point for you to start learning and adapting to it before it takes control over you.
